Knox influenced the faith of Scotland more than anyone else in history. In a singular way his influence extended to North American Presbyterianism, through its heritage from Scottish Presbyterianism. Knox also became one of the fathers of the modern public education movement, championing educational reform, especially universal public education, aid for poor students and a revised Protestant curriculum.
